Every business needs to generate new leads consistently. Regardless if you are a business that focuses on B2B (business to business) or B2C (business to consumer), you are probably looking to hire, source new business, form strategic alliances or partnerships and/or get publicity.
Unfortunately you, like many businesses, are not utilizing the power of LinkedIn. Most do not participate at all or they participate half-heartedly. Their profiles are lackluster, incomplete, or are poor representations of who they are and what they are looking to achieve. Most companies could use a serious shot in the arm when it comes to the executive team and company’s LinkedIn presence.
It is amazing that so many business people say, “I don’t have time for this. I do not see the value in LinkedIn. I don’t have time to go playing around on these social networks.”
LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world with of millions of users. They have created such a powerful online presence that they are able to harness the entire world’s professional culture. If someone searches for you on any search engine, your profile on LinkedIn is going to be one of the primary website that appears.
Consider this as well; every time somebody visits a LinkedIn profile, there is an opportunity for an engagement. That engagement could be for branding purposes or to generate a lead, or get a referral, or an introduction.
Anyone that thinks that LinkedIn is a waste of time or unimportant is doing themselves and their business a disservice. LinkedIn has a number of tools that can help you, and pretty much any business, achieve major business objectives.
Want to connect with specific business people? Use LinkedIn Advance Search. Advance Search is a tool that allows users to search for people by a specific title. In the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of generating over $9 million of revenue and value for my clients through LinkedIn. When someone tells me that Social Networking doesn’t work, all I can do is laugh. I know that they are wrong; they just haven’t been taught or enlightened to the power of LinkedIn.
