The 10 Most Overused LinkedIn Profile Buzzwords of 2011

It’s almost the end of the year, New Year is just around the corner, and LinkedIn has finally released it’s annual list of “Most Overused Buzzwords”. The LinkedIn Team analyzed the network’s 135 million accounts to reveal the top 10 most-overused buzzwords that members use on their LinkedIn profiles. And the words which made it to the top 10 list are:

  1. Creative
  2. Organizational
  3. Effective
  4. Extensive experience
  5. Track record
  6. Motivated
  7. Innovative
  8. Problem solving
  9. Communication skills
  10. Dynamic

Number one on the list is “Creative” – did LinkedIn members become too creative describing themselves as “Creative” this year?

LinkedIn also analyzed the most overused words in some countries. Below is the the infographic that they released.

Multinational: Brazil
Dynamic: France
Effective: India
Problem solving: Italy
Motivated: Ireland
Managerial: Spain
Track record: Singapore

 

It seems like the 2010 analysis results caused some members to tweak their profiles in order to avoid last year’s overused buzzwords.
