A great infographic from Wayne Breitbarth and Powerformula.net shows what LinkedIn members do when they are using the professional network.
The infographic shows that 8.4% of the LinkedIn members use and apply for the premium membership while the rest love using LinkedIn’s free version.
Majority of the LinkedIn users spend only 0 to 2 hours a week in using the professional network. LinkedIn Groups is the most favorite feature in LinkedIn followed by people searching, people you may know, who’s viewed you and company information.
How has LinkedIn Helped?
76.9% of the LinkedIn users said the professional network helped them research people and companies
68.6% says LinkedIn helped them reconnect with past business and associates
49.7% Build new networking relationships with individuals who may influence potential customers
44.5% Increase face-to-face networking effectiveness
38.3% Uncover potential job opportunities
37.6% Build new relationships with potential customers
37.2% Increases branding/marketing presence in the marketplace
27.9% Generate identifiable business opportunities

I am mostly surprised that there wasn’t a heavier emphasis on and using LinkedIn for job search. There is nothing better and in this economy LinkedIn is a powerful tool for someone looking to secure a job.
Forget job search. One does not have to do it now. HR depts from various industries have found linkedin to be a very useful and handy tool for their recruitment needs. Even the professional consultants dont have to keep a database of their own now, or even be a member of multiple job portals.
